Doechii Dazzles 2025 Grammy Stage, Performs “Catfish” And “Denial Is A River”
Doechii was one of the most lauded artists in 2024, earning her way to multiple nominations at the 2025 Grammys. She blazed the stage with two records, as part of the larger Best New Artist medley performance.
The 26-year-old performed second, following Benson Boone’s moving rendition of his smash hit “Beautiful Things.” She first delivered “Catfish” while wearing a grey suit with shorts instead of pants. Her background dancers flanked her, trading between busting moves and lifting her in the air in a variety of positions.
The Tampa, Fla., artist then transitioned to the popular “Denial Is A River” while stripping down to a white two-piece set. The TDE artist traded bars with Miss Milan, her loyal DJ, and did not miss a beat. Between the breath control, movement, and intensity, all of the praise she received in the last few years was validated. Check out the performance below.

Doechii and Benson Boone were also joined by Shaboozey, who performed “Good News” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Teddy Swims who sang “Lose Control,” and RAYE who closed the medley with “Oscar Winning Tears.” Their additional nominees, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, did not take part in the medley as they had individual performances earlier in the night.
It was already a great night for Doechii, though, as she took home the Best Rap Album award for her 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. Her victory made her the second solo woman rapper to win Best Rap Album, joining Cardi B in rare air.
Alligator Bites Never Heal was a 19-song effort that the new Grammy winner mostly handled on her own, save for Fetish appearing on “GTFO.” Camper, Childish Major, Kal Banx, Devin Malik, Monte Booker, and more contributed production to the project. Listen to Alligator Bites Never Heal, which she can now proudly call Grammy-winning, below.
