Days of Our Lives Exclusive: Watch Out Abigail, EJ’s About to Start ‘Poking Around Where He Doesn’t Belong’

Now that Abigail’s officially back on Days of Our Lives (or perhaps, someone pretending to be Abigail is) and settling back into the DiMera mansion, she’s naturally starting to run across Chad’s family. In a normal family, that would be all well and good — but Abigail’s history with the DiMeras is not limited to her husband!

There’s Stefan, of course, who, after meeting the new Abigail, thanked Chad for not reminding her of the time he raped her by sleeping with her alter, Gabby. There’s Andre who’s, well, he’s dead, since Abigail’s alter killed him in cold blood. And there’s EJ who, per spoilers, is about to have his own first run-in with Abigail tomorrow!
And if anyone thought Abigail’s return would go smoothly (as if), AnnaLynne McCord warns that right off the bat, “There’s some drama that starts early amongst the DiMera brothers because EJ is coming in and poking around where he doesn’t belong.”

So far, everyone’s been buying that she’s Abigail with virtually no hesitation — except for poor Jennifer who had a near-meltdown dealing with her “new” daughter. And we’ll admit that if anyone can buy “dying” and coming back with a new face, it’s EJ. In fact, McCord says that’s something Feuerriegel talked to her about, as he knows what it’s like to take over a popular character with an entirely new look.
But we’d also venture that if anyone would find her return highly suspicious, it’s also EJ — especially when it’s tied somehow to Clyde, who was responsible for his near-death to begin with! Clyde’s off in a supermax prison, but as DA, EJ, of all people, would likely have to pull needed to talk to him and try to get to the bottom of things.

“He’s obviously an instigator,” McCord chuckles about EJ. “He’s very good at it. It’s fun to watch.” And if we’re being honest, it’s not like he’s got anything better to do right now. EJ’s portrayer, on the other hand, was far more open to one of Days of Our Lives’ newest castmember.
“Dan [Feuerriegel] was just so welcoming,” McCord shares, admitting, “I was a little bit of a fan of Spartacus.” Hey, we definitely understand that! EJ’s portrayer, longtime fans know, played Agron on the hit Starz show before joining Days of Our Lives.
And it turns out the two actors have something downright adorable in common. “We got on Facetime and did our lines before the first day when we were working together,” McCord recalls. “He was showing me his cats, and I had my cat — cats were all over the sides and the scripts.”
The fact that they got any work done at all with their adorable felines running around is all the more impressive. Of course, you know what they say about curiosity and the cat. Let’s just hope EJ doesn’t regret poking around and satisfying his own curiosity with Abigail. Because if Clyde’s involved, you can bet danger is just around the corner.
