David Frankel To Direct ABC Pilot ‘The King Of 7B’, Ben Karlin To Be Showrunner
The Devil Wears Prada helmer David Frankel is set to direct ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot The King Of 7B from ABC Studios. Also joining the pilot as executive producer and showrunner is Ben Karlin (Modern Family, The Daily Show).
Written by Howard Franklin, the ensemble comedy focuses on an agoraphobic recluse who ventures outside for the first time in 11 years when he spies what could be his soul-mate moving into the building across the street.
Frankel, repped by WME and Anonymous Content, won a directing Emmy for Band Of Brothers miniseries and received a nomination for directing the Entourage pilot. He also directed feature Marley And Me. For Karlin, repped by UTA and 3Arts, the gig falls under the overall deal he has at ABC Studios.
