David Fincher Wants You to ‘Dress Normal’ With Gap Clothing (Video)
Lisbeth Salander is not going to like this: David Fincher, the director of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” and the upcoming “Gone Girl,” encourages you to “dress normal” in a new ad for The Gap.
The Oscar-nominated film director, who began his career as a music video director, still makes some ads on occasion. The series of black-and-white Gap commercials aim to convince today's youth that a simple outfit is better than anything too flashy — or colorful.

Like the clothes they're selling, the four 30-second spots are very plain and to the point. One (above) just features a couple making out, while the girl slyly checks herself out in a mirror. Salander-style piercings and leather are nowhere in sight.
