Dave Bautista Wants to Join DC With Marvel Co-Stars Chris Pratt & Zoe Saldana
Being done with the MCU, Marvel’s Drax actor Dave Bautista shares his hope of joining the DC Universe. Furthermore, he also wishes for a reunion with his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars in more projects outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Dave Bautista is open to entering James Gunn’s DC Universe
While promoting his next movie, The Killer’s Game, Bautista talked about joining James Gunn’s DC Universe with his fellow MCU actors.
When asked about playing a DC character, he told ComicBook.com:
“Yeah. Of course. As I’ve said, and I’ve been very open to that. I guess it just has to be the right part. But I’m very open to it, and I love James and I would do anything to work with him.”
But, before agreeing to join the DCU, he also mentioned his desire to work with other Guardians of the Galaxy actors. In 2013, he appeared as one of the antagonists in Vin Diesel’s Riddick. He and Karen Gillan starred in 2019’s Stuber. Now, he stars alongside Pom Klementieff in his latest action comedy.
Speaking of working with other Marvel actors, he said:
“I hope so, yeah. That’s kind of my goal. I really want, because I’ve done another project outside of Guardians with Karen Gillan, and I’ve done work with Pom now.”
Furthermore, he is willing to enter the DC Universe with the two Guardians of the Galaxy leads as well.
Bautista wants Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt & Zoe Saldana to join him
In his Comicbook.com interview, Bautista added:
“I would like to work with Chris and Zoe outside of the Marvel Universe, as well.”
James Gunn recently confirmed that he and Chris Pratt always talk about a DC role for Pratt. Zoe Saldana also showed willingness to join James Gunn’s DC Universe earlier this year. Even Pom Klementieff was reported to be in talks for a DC role. So, it’s likely that Dave Bautista’s wish of a Guardians of the Galaxy cast reunion could come true in James Gunn’s DC Universe.
Whether Bautista unites with the others as Bane or some other DC character remains to be seen. For now, fans could check him out in The Killer’s Game, which hits theaters on September 13, 2024.
