Danny DeVito, Tony Danza & More ‘Taxi’ Cast Reunite On ‘The View’
The View hosted an epic reunion of the cast of Taxi, 45 years after the series premiered on ABC. The ladies hosted Danny DeVito, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsch, Marilu Henner and Carol Kane for the celebration.
“For us, from the first day, the first moment we got together, it was like a family,” said DeVito, who played Louie De Palma, about the continued popularity of the series. “We were hugging and kissing the first day and we didn’t even really know each other. We read the script and everyone was falling into place. It was miraculous. But we appreciated it and never took it for granted. We always felt like the work was the most important thing.”

Added Hirsch, who played Alex Reiger, “We said, we gotta do this. If we’re not good, it’s not gonna work. They canceled shows left and right in those years. So we said, ‘Let’s just do this…and drink.'”
Henner revealed the cast and crew had legendary parties after each show that were the envy of other shows. A clip from the appearance can be found above.
In another clip, Kane, who portrayed Simka Gravas, the wife of Latka Gravas played by Andy Kaufman, opened up about working with her small-screen husband and learning his invented language.
Taxi is currently available to stream via Paramount+ and Prime Video.
