Daniel Radcliffe can’t wait for the upcoming Harry Potter TV series!
Speaking to the press at the 2024 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 16, Radcliffe — who won his first Tony award during the ceremony — revealed that he was most looking forward to seeing the last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, being made into a TV series.
“The last one, I mean, it'll be a while before they get to that, I assume, but that was always one of my favorite of the books and of the films,” Radcliffe, 34, who played the role of Harry Potter in the film franchise, said.
Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed in April 2023 that they would be making a brand-new Harry Potter series based on the novels by J. K. Rowling.

"Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years."
Meanwhile, Radcliffe previously expressed his excitement about the series, adding that he didn’t think he’d be starring in the adaptation.
“Like the rest of the world, [I’m] very excited to watch as an audience member," he said in an interview with E! in May. Asked if he’d star in the show, he replied, "No, I don’t think so."
"I don't know if it would work to have us do anything in it," he added.
Still, Radcliffe does have advice for the producers and adults who will be guiding the young actors stepping into the iconic roles. After the Tony Awards, The Lost City actor told Entertainment Tonight, "Just like, let them be kids still. I can't imagine what it would have been like to do that in the age of social media. We were kind of a little bit before that."
Meanwhile, turning the page from his Harry Potter days, Radcliffe accepted his first Tony award on Sunday for best performance by a featured actor in a musical for his performance in Merrily We Roll Along.
Accepting the award, he thanked his parents and longtime girlfriend Erin Darke, with whom he shares a 14-month-old son.
"My mum and dad are here somewhere — happy Father's Day, dad, I love you both so much. Thank you for playing Sondheim in the car and just, you know, loving me," Radcliffe said. "And my love, Erin — you and our son are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much, thank you so much. Thank you everybody."
