“Dancing With the Stars” recap: Latin night ends with a shocking elimination
Latin night on Dancing With the Stars began with a bang and ended on a low blow.
Many of the stars made huge improvements from last week, but before they shimmied and shook all over the dance floor, the pro dancers opened the show with an energetic number set to "Despechá" by Rosalía, choreographed by pros and real life married couple Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov.

Marvel star Xochitl Gomez performed a high energy salsa to "Don't Go Yet" by Camila Cabello and received the highest score of the night with a trio of 8s and even higher praise from the judges. Bruno thanked her for her performance that he said was "so hot I'm melting!" But Xochitl had company at the top of the leaderboard once Jason Mraz took to the stage with a sultry rumba that earned him three 8s as well.
Star of Buying Beverly Hills Mauricio Umansky intended on repping his home country of Mexico with his salsa, but made a few mistakes along the way. His blunders translated to the lowest scores of the night.
ABC Charity Lawson and Ezra Sosa dance a cha-cha to "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin.
Charity Lawson may have danced to "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin, but Bruno told the Bachelorette star that he wanted to see more sexual tension between her and her pro partner. But in Charity's defense, her usual partner Artem Chigvintsev tested positive for COVID before tonight's show and troupe member Ezra Sosa stepped in last minute to save the day.
And speaking of being sexy, both Alyson Hannigan and Jamie Lynn Spears' goals for this week was to tap into their sensual side. Alyson's tango earned her a 19 from the judges while Jamie Lynn's cha-cha earned her a 16. "Being a softball mom, it's not sexy," Jamie Lynn quipped. But Derek Hough? He begs to differ. "I think softball moms are hot!" the judge replied.
But her daughter's softball trophy might be the prize Jamie Lynn will have to settle for, as she and her partner Bersten were sent home at the end of the night after fan votes were tallied.
