Dakota Fanning Shows Off Her Minimalist Date Night Style

Dakota Fanning stepped out for a rare date night on Sunday.
After supporting friends during the Winnetka Bowling League concert in West Hollywood, the actor left the venue with a mystery man—after calling the dating scene “horrific” back in 2016. For the occasion, she opted for a simple yet polished outfit made up of closet staples, making her look an easy one to replicate.
The actor wore a white tee tucked into dark wash jeans, which she wore cuffed to dress up her look and show off her strappy black leather kitten heels. Her waist was cinched with a black leather belt, and she added some shine to her look with a smattering of gold rings, a gold watch, and a beaded white-and-gold floral necklace. Over her base, she layered an oversized black button-up shirt and shouldered a black quilted bag. She finished off her look with natural makeup, and effortlessly threw her blonde hair over her shoulder.
Fanning has been on a style streak as of late, debuting both a butter-yellow suit and an asymmetrical black linen dress within the month. Earlier this year, she also showed off her contrasting red carpet style alongside younger sister Elle Fanning, who recently spoke to Bazaar about her sibling’s style.
“There was a point where I was able to steal her clothes, but now I’m a lot taller, so I can’t. I think Dakota’s very classic. I’m classic too, but with a twist,” Fanning said of their differing styles. “She’s a little bit more laid-back. There have been times when she’s looked at me and she’s like, ‘Okay, you're going to wear that?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ And I think she loves me for that, but I kind of make a bolder choice, whereas she just wants to look beautiful and clean and chic. I get to be the crazy one. I think that younger-older sister dynamic is classic.”
