Curly or crinkle-cut? Mayo or tartar sauce? Here's how Cincinnatians like their french fries
Cincinnatians are passionate about their food – and french fries are no different. This National French Fry Day, which is observed every year on July 13, we polled our social media followers on the best ways to enjoy these salty treats.
On Twitter, Enquirer followers crowned McDonald's as the supreme french fry brand, with fries from Arby's, Chick-fil-A and Steak 'n Shake trailing behind.

Dipping one's fries in mayonnaise was voted the biggest "spud sin," while ranch dressing came out on top as the least-hated dipping sauce. Followers also claimed thin, standard-shaped french fries are more delicious than curly, waffle or crinkle-cut.
Our Instagram polls yielded similar results. McDonald's was voted the favorite national brand for french fries, though Chick-fil-A was a close second.
Mayonnaise was once again decried as the worst fry dipping sauce. However, on Instagram, waffle-shaped fries came out on top.
