Country Artist Opening Up for Morgan Wallen Takes a Major Tumble Offstage
While bringing the energy during his opening performance for Morgan Wallen on his One Night At A Time 2024 Tour on Aug. 9, rising country music star Nate Smith appeared to trip or slip on something as he walked in front of the stage, falling in the middle of the song.
Thankfully, Smith was a good sport about the whole thing, even sharing a clip of the moment he fell on Instagram and writing, "Well crap."
In the clip, Smith sang his song "World on Fire" as he fell face forward, but he quickly sat up and put his arms out, seeming to embrace the moment before getting up and continuing the performance. Text over the footage said, "The Way I Bounced Back."
Fans were loving the good-spirited moment, with funny replies like, "Who put that floor there damit! Someone is to blame for sure. Lolol," "I love the 'upsies' arms ??," and, "Olympics are winding down dude. too bad you got sone [sic] serious skills."
One person even referenced his song lyrics to quip, "Did that burn burn burn?? ??."
"Too smooth! I thought it was parkour!" said a supportive listener, as a different fan cheered him on saying, "Most graceful fall I’ve seen ?? then carried on like no big deal ????."
Another fan of Smith argued, "??It builds character… When you’re moving up the charts the way you are, there’s bound to be an obstacle or two????????."
The 38-year-old, who won an Academy of Country Music Award for New Artist of the Year in 2024, has some more performances this summer at various events before his headlining Through The Smoke Tour begins this fall.
His newest album, Through The Smoke, came out on April 5 of this year, featuring songs like "Bulletproof" and "Wish I Never Felt."
