Conan O’Brien Continues Oscars Snacks Tradition
The 2025 Oscars marked Conan O’Brien’s first time hosting, but he carried on with a common tradition for Sunday’s show: Providing snacks.
Ahead of the ceremony, A-list stars and others in attendance were greeted with snack boxes placed under each seat inside the Dolby Theatre. Inside the boxes were a note from O’Brien that read, “Dear star/seat filler – I hope you enjoy these complimentary snacks. I tried my best to include a gummy but Disney said that was a “hard pass.” Have a great night.” A drawing of O’Brien giving the peace sign was also included.

Last year, four-time host Kimmel enlisted help once again from actor Adam Shapiro’s Shappy Pretzel Co.
Don Julio tequila was also passed out to audience members for a “toast for later.”
Going into Sunday’s show, Emilia Pérez leads the nominations with 13, setting a record for a non-English-language film. Following Emilia Pérez were The Brutalist and Wicked, which tied with 10 noms apiece. A Complete Unknown and Conclave followed with eight mentions each.
Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo paid tribute to the Wizard of Oz and The Wiz in their opening Oscars performance.
During his opening monologue, O’Brien mocked the Emilia Pérez scandal and made comical quips about Wicked, A Complete Unknown, The Brutalist and Conclave.
The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, aired live coast-to-coast on Sunday, March 2, from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on ABC and Hulu. Check out the A-list red carpet arrivals here.
