Colin Jost falls for Michael Che's 'meanest' April Fool's Day prank on 'SNL'
The Quinta Brunson-hosted "Saturday Night Live" episode couldn't have fallen on a more perfect day: April Fool's Day.
"The Weekend Update" co-host Michael Che pulled off a subtle, but effective prank, on co-host Colin Jost during their segment.
Jost fired off a few jokes about former President Donald Trump's recent indictment and was met with only a few chuckles.
Che followed up with his own Trump jokes, leading the audience to roar with laughter. His second joke referred to President Joe Biden's reaction to the indictment and the audience began cheering and clapping.

Jost went for another Trump joke and the audience quieted down as he proclaimed that he was the only one at a Trump rally calling to "Let our boy go!" One audience member even called out, "You stink!"
Che couldn't hold in his laughs anymore as he confessed to his co-anchor, "I told them not to laugh at you for April Fool's."
An embarrassed Jost admitted that for a second he thought his mic wasn't working, "And then I was like, 'Oh, I just suck!'"

"You're evil!" Jost screamed. "That’s the meanest thing you’ve ever done to me. I'm covered in sweat."
For the rest of the "Weekend Update," Jost was skeptical of the audience after they resumed cheering and took a moment to "boo" Che for one of his jokes.
