'Cocaine and a couple shots.' Macy Gray describes her healing process
Many find solace in activities like yoga, meditation or exercise. Singer Macy Gray has a more unorthodox system.
On a new episode of MTV's "The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets," the Canton native addressed her disdain for more traditional forms of wellness.
"I just don't do the hippie [expletive]," she said. "Like I live in L.A., that's hippie kingdom. If I'm healing, that's not how I do it."
There are a few key ingredients to Gray's healing process, she said with a laugh: "Cocaine, and a couple shots." She added that a couple of edibles don't hurt either.
Gray came to fame in the 1990s and is well known for her hit song "I Try," which won a Grammy in 2001. The album, titled "On How Life Is," sold 7 million copies worldwide. Gray also has acted in the past, with some of her popular appearances including "Training Day" and "Domino."
