Coachella 2022: Megan Thee Stallion keeps the energy high for her 'hot girls,' 'big ole freaks'
Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion showed all the hot girls and boys of Coachella how a superstar commands a stage during her hour-long set Saturday night.
The moment Megan, 27, came out on stage, she exuded confidence during her first Coachella appearance and maintained a high level of energy the entire time.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper opened her show with “Megan’s Piano” wearing a black and silver spacey one-piece with futuristic glasses on. She and her backup dancers shook everything they had, and the crowd went wild.
Throughout her set she kept shouting out all her “hot girls” and “big ole freaks,” which served as the perfect transition to her song “Big Ole Freak.”
Megan kept the energy going all night, singing song after song with a few costume changes in between.
One of the biggest crowd-pleasers was her performance of “WAP,” the song she joined rapper Cardi B on in 2020. Cardi B did not make an appearance during the song, but Megan held down the fort by skillfully rapping her verses and dancing to the infamous lyrics.
Megan Thee Stallion rose to prominence with her hit songs "Hot Girl Summer" and "Savage" thanks to viral videos on the app TikTok.
"Big Ole Freak" was Megan's debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 99.
She has collaborated with a number of big names in the music industry, such as Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Dua Lipa.
Megan has won a number of Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Song for "Savage (Beyoncé remix)."
