Classic album covers get the Star Wars treatment
Updated
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away … album covers might look more like this. As part of an ongoing series titled Why the Longplay Face?, digital artist Steven Lear has taken to remixing classic LP covers with Star Wars twists, and the results are enough to impress even the sternest Jedi master or most nefarious Sith lord. Playing off both words and imagery, the redesigned albums include Han Solo replicating David Bowie's Heroes pose, an AT-AT standing in for AC/DC, Princess Leia doing her best Bjork impersonation, Lando Calrissian gracing Lando Calling (taking cues from the Clash's London Calling), and a cover that should really be labeled Darth Side of the Moon. Check out some examples below and on Lear's website. @whythelongplayface #starwars #theforceawakens #forceawakens. #hansolo #lukeskywalker #princessleia #r2d2 #c3po #music #movies #vinyl #rock #bjork #nirvana #acdc #blacksabbath #pinkfloyd #prince #michaeljackson #oasis #blur #petergabriel #bobdylan #neilyoung #kratwerk #sonicyouth #davidbowie A photo posted by WhyTheLongPlayFace (@whythelongplayface) on Dec 17, 2015 at 11:10am PST Apparently the Force Awakens matches up when you play Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. Thought that gave me a good excuse to repost this one... #pinkfloyd #darksideofthemoon #starwars #forceawakens #theforceawakens #vinyl A photo posted by WhyTheLongPlayFace (@whythelongplayface) on Apr 12, 2016 at 12:07pm PDT #starwarstheforceawakens A photo posted by WhyTheLongPlayFace (@whythelongplayface) on Dec 17, 2015 at 10:57am PST
