Christina Aguilera dishes on 'Mickey Mouse Club' crushes: Who got left out?
The Late Late Show‘s James Corden had a little fun digging Mickey Mouse Club gossip out of Christina Aguilera during his “Carpool Karaoke” primetime special Monday night. Specifically, the host wanted to know which of the kiddies had crushes on one another during that golden period of their lives.
Corden guessed that Aguilera couldn’t resist co-star Ryan Gosling. “Even then at that age, could you find yourself getting lost in Ryan Gosling’s eyes?” he queried.
Aguilera, however, shot that down. “I wasn’t on the train,” she noted, but then did admit that both she and co-star Britney Spears had a little thing for Justin Timberlake.
“He had swag,” she explained, adding, “But I know Ryan, he actually had a crush on Britney.”
“She must be regretting that,” mused Corden, to which Aguilera reminded him of the fact that Spears and Timberlake ended up being a thing.
“Yeah, that worked out wonderfully for everybody,” shot back Corden.
Timberlake and Spears, of course, had a nasty breakup in 2002, fueled by rumors that Spears cheated, which resulted in a decadelong silence between the two.
At any rate, all the kids are grown up now — and have moved way, way on. Aguilera is engaged to production assistant Matthew Rutler. Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel. Spears has of late been linked to personal trainer Sam Asghari. And poor rejected Gosling, whose swag didn’t measure up to JT’s? He has been in a relationship with actress Eva Mendes since 2011 and shares two children with her.
