Christie Brinkley is just like us in the sense that she sometimes struggles with body image, too.
The supermodel, who turned 70 this past February, recently revealed that she'd learned a lot about self-confidence from her 25-year-old lookalike daughter Sailor–especially when it comes to stepping out in public wearing nothing but her swimsuit.
Brinkley, who has appeared on over half a dozen covers of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit–three of which were earned consecutively from 1979-1981–credited her "incredible" daughter with teaching her about feeling empowered in whatever she wears.
"Sailor is very strong and, you know, she has very strong opinions about feeling good about yourself because she's gone through strong feelings, not feeling good about herself," Brinkley told People at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City during the 60th anniversary party for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
"So, she's really into empowering herself to feel confident and good. And she'll say to me if ever I, I'm doubtful and I go, 'I don't know, you know, is this like...?' She's like, 'Mom, you're beautiful, embrace it, you know, go with it, lean into it.' And I'm like, 'Ok, I shall try.'"
Brinkley clearly took the advice to heart as she attended the event with poise while wearing a red-hot skintight gown that featured a hip-high slit and dramatic sleeves. She completed the eye-catching look with a pair of white leather pumps, bright red lipstick and styled her hair in glamorous waves.

The model shares Sailor with her ex-husband and architect Peter Cook, with whom she was married for 12 years before their divorce in 2008.
