Chris Hemsworth's kids kept interrupting him while he was recording for “Transformers One”
Optimus Prime had to prepare lunch for his kids while working from home.
Not even Optimus Prime is immune to the challenges of remote work.
At the New York premiere of his upcoming animated film Transformers One, director Josh Cooley recalled star Chris Hemsworth's children occasionally crashing his remote recording sessions while he worked from home in Australia.
"All of Chris' recordings were done at his house, so I would travel all the way to Sydney and record there, which was really fun," Cooley told PEOPLE. "His kids would come running into the room occasionally and he'd be like, 'Oh, hold on, let me get lunch for him,' or whatever it was. But it was great. It was so super chill and he's a phenomenal, great guy."

Hemsworth and his wife, model Elsa Pataky, share three children together: twin sons Sasha and Tristan and daughter India Rose. The Marvel actor was recently joined by his two boys at the film's Australian premiere last week.

In theaters Friday, Transformers One tells the origin story of enemies Optimus Prime (voiced by Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry), set during the days when they were bonded like brothers. The all-star voice cast also includes Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Hamm, and Keegan-Michael Key.
At Comic-Con earlier this year, Hemsworth said he first consulted with his children before taking on the role. "I had gone to my kids and said, 'What do you think?' And they said, 'You have to do it,'" he told PEOPLE. "They were in the background as I was recording a lot of these lines. They were kind of yelling suggestions or trying to distract me."
The actor also stopped by Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con studio and addressed reports that he was in talks to star in the upcoming Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie. "I don’t know yet," Hemsworth said. "I keep getting asked about that." Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, did, however, bring it up when he was recording Transformers One, he divulged.

"We started talking about where the universe could expand and how fun it could be," he said. "And look, I’m just down for great filmmakers, great scripts, great stories. There’s a lot of potential in this universe, in both the G.I. Joe world and the Transformers world, to recreate, try something different." Hemsworth also claimed he was not "even sure" who he would be playing. "Am I still going to play Optimus Prime and then switch over to G.I. Joe? Do I get paid twice? What’s happening here? That’s the important question," he said.
