There was plenty of toasting to go around at the Oscars on Sunday night, as the major awards were spread out amongst Anora, A Real Pain, Emilia Perez and Conclave, but there was also actual toasting at the ceremony thanks to Champagne Lallier.

The prestigious champagne house was the exclusive champagne at the 97th Academy Awards, kicking off a multi-year partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. As part of the partnership, guests enjoyed Lallier R.019 champagne both in the Dolby Theatre lobby bar and at the Governors Ball post-Oscars party.

The Lallier Brut R.019 expression is part of the brand’s signature Réflexion series. As the name on the bottle suggestions, the champagne was made with a majority of grapes harvested in 2019, then aged and corked under the watchful eye of cellar master Dominique Demarville, who was previously the chef de caves at Veuve Clicquot.
Lallier says the resulting expression is known for its “purity, freshness, intensity and depth,” and the champagne paired well with Wolfgang Puck’s catering at the Governors Ball, who took place in the Ray Dolby Ballroom on the top level of Ovation Hollywood. Mikey Madison, Kieran Culkin, Sean Baker and Wicked costume designer Paul Tazewell were among the Oscar winners who attended the after-party, where they went on stage to have their new golden trophies engraved.
The stars were also welcomed into the ballroom with a glass of champagne at the Champagne Lallier bar, with bartenders pouring the brand’s cuvées right by the entrance all night. Earlier in the evening, guests at the Oscars ceremony enjoyed glasses of R.019 in the Dolby Theatre lobby during commercial breaks, with sharply-dressed waiters serving champagne alongside mini boxes of popcorn, Oscars-branded Hershey Kisses, and silver pouches of trail mix.
In a press release, Lallier says “Much like the films celebrated at the ceremony, Réflexion captures the craft and excellence that define both Champagne Lallier and the cinematic masterpieces honored at the Oscars.”
Founded in 1906 in A? — one of the few French villages classified as Grand Cru — this was the first year that Lallier served as the exclusive champagne at the Governors Ball and other Oscars-related events. The brand has confirmed that they’ll be back at the Oscars next year.
“This partnership with the Academy is a testament to Champagne Lallier’s dedication to celebrating creativity and excellence,” says Augustin Depardon, Managing Director House of Cognac & Champagne at Campari Group. “Much like the cinematic masterpieces honored by the Oscars, our Champagnes are born of passion, precision, and a commitment to craft. We are thrilled to be part of this iconic celebration, starting with this milestone ceremony in 2025.”
