Celebrity Newbies Hit the Runway at New York Fashion Week

The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, especially at New York Fashion Week. In mid-February, models, celebs, and celebs who want to be models flock to the city that never sleeps for the weeklong fashion extravaganza. This time around, there was a flurry of new faces on the catwalk, as stars (on various levels) took to the runway.

“Hot felon” Jeremy Meeks walked in Philipp Plein’s first NYFW show on Monday night (which Madonna attended at the last minute, just FYI). In case the name Meeks doesn’t ring any bells, he became a viral hit in 2014 when his sexy mugshot was posted on Facebook by the Stockton Police Department. Meeks has chiseled cheekbones and light blue eyes and the world went crazy for the criminal — and now fashion’s elite have apparently embraced him as well.

Coming from a different side of the tracks, Delilah Belle Hamlin – Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin‘s daughter — walked in the Sherri Hill show. Though Delilah, 18, had walked in one or two shows before (including a Tommy Hilfiger show with fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills daughter, Gigi Hadid), the 18-year-old beauty still qualifies as a fresh face on the scene — and she’s still clearly excited about each and every job she books.

She took to Instagram to share a snapshot from backstage at the show, flashing an embroidered robe and some killer legs.

Another Housewives‘ offspring, Camille Grammer‘s daughter, Mason Grammer, also got into the mix, walking in the Malan Breton Fall/Winter 2017 collection presentation. Like Delilah Belle, 15-year-old Mason has some experience on the runway, but she doesn’t have much. (She previously walked two other times for the same designer.) Naturally, her proud mama took to Instagram to share a backstage image. “Backstage at @malanbreton #nyfw with my girl @mason.grammer,” Kelsey Grammer‘s ex-wife gushed.

Lindsay Lohan‘s younger brother also dipped his toes in the Fashion Week pond, and his sister was there to support him. Dakota Lohan (originally Cody), 20, walked in Love X Fashion X Art by Domingo Zapata’s show on Monday night, and Lindsay sat in the front row to take it all in. The 30-year-old actress was all smiles as she headed inside, sporting a chic black ensemble with a green fur jacket.

On Tuesday, two unlikely suspects christened the runway at at Nick Graham’s men’s show: Buzz Aldrin and Bill Nye (the science guy). Aldrin, the 87-year-old astronaut who was the second man ever to walk on the moon, had no trouble walking on the runway. Graham’s show was dubbed “Life on Mars: Fall-Winter 2035” collection, which explains why the two men were chosen as models.

Aldrin rocked a a black-and-white “Get Your A** to Mars” T-shirt of his own design, while the former TV scientist donned a space-themed tuxedo with a rocket print. Of his stint on the catwalk, Aldrin said he “felt very much at home.”

Nye and Graham already had a relationship; the designer had consulted with Nye on science-inspired fashion pieces in the past. Also, Bill Nye bow ties are now sold on Graham’s site — in case you want to snap one up.
