Cazzette to Stop Touring as a Duo, Hear Five-Minute Minimix of New Music: Exclusive
Cazzette will no longer be touring as a duo. It wasn’t an easy decision, but for Alexander Bj?rklund and Sebastian Furrer, it’s actually quite a relief.
“Cazzette for me has always been about creativity,” Furrer says in an emailed statement. “As the project became more and more successful, the need to tour and take the music to fans became more important. For me, this became a distraction from my creativity, and by the end of 2015, I knew it was something I had to take control of. The decision allows Alex and I to continue to work together whilst also keeping ourselves at peace on a personal level, and we both feel super positive about the road ahead.”

Prepare for a face full of hot new tunes. More of a routined approach also makes room for further experimentation, and the results are already showing. Upcoming single “Blue Sky,” out June 3, incorporates Spanish guitar samples over a traditional house rhythm for a playfully fresh sound. It’s also the band’s first time working with Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and producer Laleh.
“Laleh is such a quick and talented creative mind to work with, we wrote the original idea together in like a few hours,” Bj?rklund says in the email release. “Seb and I went into our Studio back in Sweden and began experimenting with sounds. We always like to move away from what we are too familiar with, and so the Spanish guitar sample found its place and we instantly felt that, for us we had something we haven’t done before although maintaining a house-vibe. For us being able to work with Laleh has been a great inspiration. When we get to work with people who are not typically dance-music oriented we tend to get the best results, to us it’s just more interesting.”
