'I cannot tell you how much I love my fans': Newly released Stan Lee video will give you all the feels
Stan Lee was adored by people all over the world, and the love fans had for him was very much reciprocated.
In a video posted to Lee’s official Twitter page Wednesday, the comic-book legend is captured on camera sometime before his death explaining how much his fans mean to him.
“Well, it’s an equal love fest because I love my fans. I cannot tell you how much I love my fans,” he told a video crew. “Sometimes at night I’m sitting here and I’m thinking, ‘What’s it all about?’ you know. And then I get a letter from a fan, or I read something, or I see something, or I remember something and I realize it’s so lucky to have fans. Fans who really care about you.”
Lee continued, “And that’s the reason I care so much about the fans is because they just — they make me feel so great. It’s something if you think about it that is wonderful about somebody caring about you as I care about them, whom you’ve never met, who may live in another part of the world, but they care and you have something in common and occasionally you contact each other. This business of fans I think it terrific and I love them all.”
So many wonderful moments with Stan came spontaneously. As we were setting up the camera one day, he casually started talking about his fans. We know how much Stan meant to you, and we thought it would be nice for you to hear how much your support meant to him. pic.twitter.com/WTX8U1afLm

Lee died Monday in Los Angeles at age 95. He is considered the godfather of Marvel Comics having brought to life so many iconic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man and Black Panther. Lee’s daughter J.C. Lee told TMZ he was creating a new superhero before his death.
“We have been working on a character called Dirt Man,” she told TMZ. “The last little angel that we’ve got tucked away is called Dirt Man. I said, ‘Daddy please, no clatter, no steel, no any of that.’ Let’s get down and dirty. … It is very interesting. It’s not over yet; we still have a little trickery.”
She added, “When my father could he answered every fan letter that he could answer. … He loved them, and it’s all about the fans. My father loves them so much.”
J.C. Lee also said she will be creating a foundation in her father’s memory to highlight the importance of the written word and reading.
