Cameron Mathison Just Got One Step Closer to *Never* Coming Back to Hallmark Ever Again

Former Hallmark mainstays Cameron Mathison and Candace Cameron Bure are teaming up for a new Great American Family holiday movie. Both actors made the move over to the rival company in recent years, but the upcoming film, titled  Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, will mark their first-ever project together.

According to the synopsis, Bure will portray Gracie, the Peachtree Inn’s perfect wedding planner whose mantra — “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered” — makes blushing brides’ dreams come true. When Charlie (Mathison) brings his sister and future brother-in-law to their former hometown of Butler, S.C., expecting to create a magical Christmas Eve wedding at the Inn for Lindsay and Josh, the trio is stunned when Gracie stubbornly declines the job, saying it is not possible to pull off the perfect wedding two weeks before Christmas. Eventually, Gracie relents and agrees to plan the wedding, only to discover there are more hurdles to overcome than expected.

GAF announced the new movie on Instagram, writing alongside a press release: “???? MORE FESTIVE NEWS: @candacecbure & @cameronmathison will star in a new original holiday film, #JingleBellsWeddingBells, premiering in November as part of #GreatAmericanChristmas 2024.” Several GAF stars commented on the post, including Hallmark alum Danica McKellar,  who wrote: “Yay!!! ??????.” Mathison and Bure also shared the post on their Instagram Stories, adding festive holiday emojis.

Of the two actors, Bure was the first to jump ship and join GAF. After 14 years at Hallmark, the Full House alum announced her departure and new deal with GAF in October 2022. “I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch,” she said in a statement at the time. “I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose. GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family. Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about!”

Mathison followed a year later and announced his multi-picture deal with GAF in November 2023. “It is very important to me to create well-crafted, beautiful stories. I am grateful to be back at Great American Media and to collaborate with some of the best creative teams in entertainment to make heartwarming content everyone can enjoy,” the General Hospital star said.

Before joining the company, Bure and Mathison were staples at the Hallmark Channel. Mathison hosted the Hallmark’s daytime talk show Home & Family, for all nine seasons up until its cancellation in 2019, and Bure was the star of the hit Aurora Teagarden Mysteries franchise. Mathison also co-starred in the first seven Hannah Swensen Mystery movies with Days of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney. Bure now serves as GAF’s chief content officer and is preparing to lead a new mystery series, titled The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries
