Cam’ron Hilariously Responds To Omar Gooding’s Diss Track
Cam’ron ain’t bothered by Omar Gooding’s diss track, and his most recent comments are proof.
After the entertainer hit out at Cam on Instagram for throwing his name in a list of actors that have run into the issues finding work, the Harlemite hopped into Gooding’s comments to reassure him that he didn’t want problems. “Lo[l] my bad bro. I don’t want no smoke,” the Purple Haze emcee typed with laughing emojis.
The issue at hand stems from a December episode of It Is What It Is, where Cam interviewed 50 Cent. Fif and Cam began discussing the issues that veteran actors run into when they have to wait around to find work and can’t finance their next moves on their own, name-dropping Omar and Ving Rhames.
“No disrespect to nobody I’m talking about,” Cam reassured those listening. “But [if you’re] Ving Rhames, you’re sitting around, or Omar Gooding Jr., y’all ni**as sitting around. I would have saved my money and shot my own sh*t by now. But a Black actor has to sit around for a 50 Cent or somebody in your lane to come pick them up to put them in something.”
Gooding took offense to the statement and actually took to Instagram immediately following the release of the episode. The Family Time actor responded to the perceived disrespect from Cam’ron and opined that it was crazy that the rapper got his name wrong—especially when he starred in a movie with Cam and Rhames called Percentage.
Omar then followed up in January with his diss track, “Fix Ya Mouth,” detailing it as his “official response to Camron’s controversial statements.” But after Cam told the 48-year-old he didn’t want any problems, Omar backed down, offering his understanding in another IG post.
“I dont believe for a SECOND that [Cam’ron] scared of lil ol Big O. But if he denies me the smoke then thats that,” he captioned the post. “Guess I’ll take my crayons and put em back in the box since a few of yall think I’m playing.”
