‘When Calls The Heart’s Mamie Laverock, 19, “Doing Well” After Extensive Surgeries Following Fall, Family Says — Update
UPDATE, 9 AM: Some hopeful news for When Calls the Heart actress Mamie Laverock. In an update on Laverock’s GoFundMe campaign, her parents say the 19-year-old Laverock is “out of her big surgeries”. They also shared that doctors now say she is “doing well.”
“It’s impossible for us to be happier,” her parents continued. “Thank you all for your support.”

PREVIOUS, May 28: Nineteen-year-old Mamie Laverock, known for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan on Hallmark Channel’s When Calls The Heart, is on life support after falling five stories from a balcony walkway.
Laverock was first taken to a Winnipeg hospital on May 11 by her mother for what was described as a “medical emergency”, according to a GoFundMe campaign created by her parents Rob and Nicole Compton. At that time, her parents wrote that “her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.”
She was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital for follow-up treatment.
In a recent update on her GoFundMe page, her parents wrote, “We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.”
“She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” her parents continued. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”
Hallmark Channel parent Hallmark Media released the following statement: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our When Calls the Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”
Johannah Newmarch, who portrays Laverock’s on-screen mother Molly Sullivan, asked for support for the family in a post on X (fka Twitter).
“I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can,” Newmarch, 52, wrote on May 27. “They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

When Calls the Heart‘s Erin Krakow also urged her follows to donate to the family’s fund on Instagram.
“?? I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too. Link in bio,” Krakow wrote.
Laverock recurred as nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan on When Call The Heart’s first two seasons. She most recently reprised her role in Season 10 in 2023. She played the role of Britney in the 2020 TV movie Spotlight on Christmas and also appeared in guest-starring roles on A Series of Unfortunate Events and Psych, among other credits.
