'Brown Skin Girl': Beyonce fans can't get enough of 'The Lion King: The Gift' new song
Of the many reasons to get excited over the new "The Lion King: The Gift" album, executive-produced by Beyoncé featuring new music from Queen Bey alongside other superstar artists, as well as a lengthy list of African collaborators,"Brown Skin Girl" is one of the very best.
The new song on the "Lion King"-inspired album features vocals not just from the Nigerian singer Wizkid and the Brooklyn rapper Saint Jhn, but from Blue Ivy Carter herself, the royal offspring of Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The song's lyrics are a love letter from "mama" Beyoncé to Blue Ivy, with the chorus, "Brown skin girl, ya skin just like pearls / Your back against the world / I never trade you for anybody else."

Fans reacted to the new track on Twitter with glowing reviews, with one approving listener writing, "Every black girl needs to hear this. This may just be the most meaningful song on the LionKing Album Wizkid and Beyonce voice was an amazing blend."

In addition to Blue Ivy's feature, "The Gift" features artists including Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell and 070 Shake alongside names from various African countries, including the Cameroonian artist Salatiel, Ghanaian Shatta Wale, South African artists Moonchild Sanelly and Busiswa, and, from Nigeria, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade and Mr Eazi.
