Brian Cox Plays Mighty King in Anime Prequel ‘Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim’ Trailer
Succession star Brian Cox is the voice of Helm Hammerhand, the sword-wielding King of Rohan, and Gaia Wise voices his daughter Héra, leading the resistance against a deadly enemy in the trailer for New Line Cinema’s anime prequel The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, which dropped on Thursday.
Set in an epic world 183 years before the events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the King of Rohan is forced into a last stand in ancient Hornburg after a sudden attack by the vengeful Wulf, voiced by Luke Pasqualino.

That forces Héra to lead a brave fightback against an enemy intent on their total destruction as the Tolkien world, inspired by books by J.R.R. Tolkien, gets its first big screen heroine. “You know nothing of war,” the King of Rohan tells his daughter dismissively at one point in the teaser trailer.
“I’m the fastest rider you have,” Héra shoots back, as the trailer has her raising her own mighty sword on horseback and fighting back against her kingdom’s enemies. Kenji Kamiyama directed the anime feature The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, which is set to hit theaters worldwide on Dec. 11 and two days later on Dec. 13 reach domestic theaters via the Warner Bros. Pictures release.
The voice cast includes Miranda Otto, Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright Laurence Ubong Williams and Shaun Dooley. The feature is produced by Oscar winner Philippa Boyens, with Peter Jackson executive producing along with Fran Walsh, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood and Toby Emmerich.
The screenplay is by Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews, Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.
