Boston Celtics alumni Jaylen Brown, Blake Griffin coming to a screen near you

Current and former Boston Celtics forwards are going to be a lot more visible in non-NBA game scenarios in the league's wider media sphere, according to a pair of recent reports. Both Boston big man alum Blake Griffin and star Celtics wing Jaylen Brown have had their names attached to new shows this week, Griffin forward-facing in a broadcast deal and Brown retrospectively in a sequel to a popular new Netflix series focused on the day-to-day of the NBA.

In the case of Brown, it was recently revealed by ESPN's Shams Charania that the Georgia native will be one of the five featured players in season two of "The Starting Five".

Season one features Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum, and Brown's iteration will be filmed with Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, Los Angeles Clippers veteran James Harden, Oklahoma City Thunder rising star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Blake Griffin in talks with NBC, Amazon, ESPN for analyst role

Griffin could well be back on our televisions soon, as well, per recent reporting from Front Office Sports' Michael McCarthy. Per McCarthy, the recently-retired Celtics center "is in talks with Amazon Prime Video about becoming part of their NBA coverage during the 2025–2026 season," and could end up in a similar role as TNT's Charles Barkley.

"He could also end up with NBC Sports, which is returning to hoops coverage for the first time in 20 years," adds the FOS reporter. "Don’t count out incumbent ESPN, which holds the league’s 'A' game package and exclusive rights to the NBA finals."

"A lot of people are very interested in him," said one anonymous source. "Blake is making the rounds."
