Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Infiltrates Taylor Swift’s Sydney Show To Troll Swifties
Two juggernaut stadium tours are currently winding their way around the country, gridlocking airports, packing out public transport and coaxing thousands upon thousands of punters who generally never leave their postcode to venture to their respective state’s big smokes and take in some live music. Taylor Swift and Blink-182 are going head to head selling-out the biggest venues around Australia, and on Friday night in Sydney, we copped a crossover episode.
With Tay-Tay selling-out Accor Stadium, Blink were forced to settle with hosting their extra Sydney show nextdoor at the humble 21,000-cap Qudos Bank Arena. And bassist-singer Mark Hoppus wasn’t taking it lying down. The punk veteran managed to finesse his way over the fence and into the stadium, to cheekily troll all the Swifties in attendance before Blink hit the stage.

He’s posted a selfie-style video of himself inside T-Swizzle’s stadium show, telling the camera: “I’m about to go on stage and I’m really disappointed in everybody here because this is the Taylor Swift show,” before hollering at fans, “You should have gone to see Blink! We’re right nextdoor. Could’ve seen Blink tonight, just sayin”.
Of course, it was all just a cheeky bit. The Blink legend also caught up with Swift backstage and they snapped a cute selfie together.
Taylor Swift is back playing the same sold-out venue tonight, while the Blink squad have the night off before heading back to Melbourne to continue their tour at Rod Laver Arena tomorrow.
