Black Is Beautiful Bridal Show returns Sunday
Feb. 23—HIGH POINT — The third annual Black Is Beautiful Bridal Show, a showcase for Black-owned businesses and wedding professionals, returns to High Point this weekend.
The event, which will feature dozens of wedding-related vendors, two fashion shows, cake-tastings, live entertainment and more, will be held Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m., at The Loft at Congdon Yards, 400 W. English Road.
"This is an interactive wedding planning event that showcases Black businesses here in the Triad and beyond," said event co-founder Temoura Jefferies. "The idea is to create a space for Black business owners to showcase their businesses in the wedding industry. It's a really fun time to come out, because we try to make it like a wedding while you're planning a wedding."
More than 50 vendors will participate in the event, including bridal shops, designers, wedding planners, caterers, photographers, event venues, menswear stores, florists and more. Attendees will be able to sample cakes and other tasty treats from caterers, drink mimosas, enjoy live entertainment and receive swag bags filled with goodies from that will add to their wedding-planning journey.
The fashion shows, featuring local bridal shops and designers showing off the latest wedding trends and styles, will be presented at 3 and 5 p.m.
The annual bridal show has been well-received in the community, Jefferies said, pointing out that last year's show had more than 400 guests in attendance.
Advance tickets are $10 apiece and can be ordered online today. Tickets can also be purchased at the door Sunday for $20 apiece.
