BiP's Carly Waddell Will Celebrate Daughter's First Birthday By Releasing Debut Album
Carly Waddell is using her voice in the sweetest way.
The Bachelor in Paradise alum, 33, is releasing her debut album of lullaby music (and an original song!) in celebration of her daughter’s first birthday.
“I’ve been a singer my whole life so naturally I began to sing for Bella when she was in the womb,” Waddell exclusively told PEOPLE. “Once she was born I found that one of the best ways to calm her at night was by singing lullabies. Since she loved it so much it gave me the idea to commemorate her first year of life by creating an album of some of her favorite lullabies that she could have and remember forever.”
The album, entitled Dream Train — which will be debuted on Feb. 15 — features lullaby versions of beloved tunes such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Somewhere Over the Rainbow as well as an original song, Dream Train, a lullaby tribute to her baby girl.
Nearly one year ago, Waddell and her BiP husband Evan Bass welcomed Isabella Evelyn Bass on Feb. 15, 2018.
“Becoming a mother has helped me become so much more in tune with myself as a woman,” said Waddell. “Thinking about what life will be for her in 10 or 20 years makes me want to fight for and create an environment where Bella can grow into a powerful woman. I want her to believe anything she sets her mind to is possible. I’ve embraced the “nothing is impossible” mindset so I can model it for her as she gets older.”
And this album will be something Bella can hold onto forever.
“Growing up, I was terrified to be alone in the dark and I still hate it! I wanted to create a song for Bella so that she wouldn’t feel like falling asleep was a bad thing,” Waddell said of her original song, “Dream Train.” “The visual of riding on a ‘Dream Train’ into sleep is made to give children a positive mental picture of going to bed. Hopefully, it brings peace to both parents and kids — especially the ones who have a tough time at night!”
Waddell and Bass met on season 3 of the ABC reality series. The two tied the knot in June 2017 in the same place they fell in love: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, televising their wedding on season 4 of BIP.
Puerto Vallarta is also where Waddell and Bass, 35, found out that they were expecting. In August, the pair told PEOPLE exclusively that Waddell was pregnant with their first child.
“It was a great surprise, it’s a great little miracle,” Waddell told Entertainment Tonight. “I was a little late … We took a pregnancy test in Mexico, and we saw the thing [in Spanish] and were like, ‘What does that even say?’ So we Googled it.”
“Dream Train” will debut on Friday, Feb. 15.
