Billy Idol is remembering his late father, William "Bill" Broad, on what would've been his 100th birthday.
The "Rebel Yell" rock star, 68, shared a throwback photo of his father, who died at age 90 in 2014, to Instagram alongside a sweet note expressing love for Broad despite their complicated relationship.
"My dad W.A.Broad died 10 years ago in August 2014 he was 90 yrs old & said ‘I’ve had a great innings’ as he knew his cancer would take him," reflected Idol. "Today he would’ve been 100…"
He continued, "We had an odd relationship when I was a teenager but as I got older I got over that & we had a great time together his last 20 yrs or so!"
"Dad was born in 1924 in Birmingham UK & served in the war," added Idol. "This is my favorite pic of him from that time…"
The "Dancing with Myself" singer then noted that Broad's "great grandson Mason was born on his birthday July 6th 2022," before concluding the statement by sending "love" to his father.
Idol seemed to also have a good relationship with his mother, Joan, who died on Aug. 16, 2020. "Sad news my Mum, Joan Broad, passed away peacefully," the Grammy-nominated rocker wrote on social media at the time alongside a photo from Joan and William's 1953 wedding.

In May, Idol opened up to PEOPLE about balancing his rock-and-roll lifestyle with duties as a proud grandfather to his son Brant's daughter McKenzie, 3, and infant son Mason and his daughter Bonnie's daughters Poppy, 3, and MaryJane, 2.
"It is really lovely. It's nice, I've got the best of both worlds," the "White Wedding" artist said at the time. "But it's been lovely and it's all worked out in an incredible way that I could never imagine."
