Billie Eilish, for instance, hit the Grammys stage to perform “Birds of a Feather” in a pair of Etnies skateboarding sneakers.
Chappell Roan, meanwhile, went the custom route for her red carpet look. The singer worked with John Fluevog for her boots, which she coordinated with a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier couture dress.
Fluevog’s chief design officer Arabella Barros worked with Roan’s stylist Genesis Webb for the occasion, creating a bespoke colorway John Fluevog Mini Sugar Candy Buckled Tall Boots.
“This particular custom boot came together in breakneck speed,” said the legendary designer. “I’ve always been inspired by medieval references, from the outfits to the crests and design, and I really enjoy the world of dress up, which is probably why I’m so drawn to Chappell’s energy.”
Sabrina Carpenter, who won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, also wore custom shoes for her big night. The “Espresso” singer performed during the show wearing Christian Louboutin Pumppie Wallis heels, which were adorned with crystals.
Benson Boone also wowed the Grammys crowd on Sunday night with a sparkling look. The singer performed hit single “Beautiful Things” in a powder blue multi-layered sequined mesh jumpsuit with matching Adidas Sambas. The sneakers were customized by designer Rio Warner.
