Big Changes Coming to 'Today' Show Following Hoda Kotb's Exit
Following Hoda Kotb's shocking announcement that she'll be stepping down from her position on the Today show, big changes are on the horizon for the morning broadcast.
To be expected, not only will the popular news program lose a beloved and familiar face, but the show's name will also be altered upon her exit, as the fan-favorite Today with Hoda & Jenna will be no more.
The TV personality's current co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, will likely see a new work partner after her close friend's planned early 2025 exit, though Kotb's replacement has yet to be revealed. When that happens, the name of the segment will change, too.

Before to gaining Bush Hager, the segment's fourth-hour correspondent spot was filled by Kathie Lee Gifford on the show's Today with Kathie Lee & Hoda. It ran for 11 years, from 2008 through 2019, before Gifford left to move to Nashville.
Naturally, other necessary shifts that will take place on the show include the I Really Needed This Today author's main co-anchor roles in the earlier time slots of the production. Viewers are likely to see swaps among current Today stars like Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Carson Daly, Savannah Guthrie, Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker and Bush Hager, who already often pop in for one another when someone is out. This, in addition to a new face eventually joining the team.
While Kotb has not yet spoken on her next move or plans after spending 26 years of her noteworthy career with NBC—aside from spending more time with her daughters— she did share that she plans to stay with the network in some undisclosed capacity.
