‘Big Brother 26’ episode 12 recap: Who won HOH, and did Quinn finally use his upgrade power? [LIVE BLOG]
Heading into the 12th episode of “Big Brother 26,” Kenney Kelley had just been evicted by a 10-to-1 vote over America’s nominee Quinn Martin. With the Week 4 Head of Household competition on the line, someone was about to win the key to the HOH room … however, their powers would undoubtedly be negated because this is the last week Quinn can use his “Deepfake” upgrade. 9:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Big Brother’!” In the 11th episode, the house reacted to Tucker’s shocking decision to save Angela with his Veto medallion and threaten then-HOH Cedric by saying he’d go after him for putting up Makensy instead of Quinn. Later, Julie revealed that Quinn received the most viewer votes to replace Makensy after she used her “America’s Veto” upgrade. Tucker won the A.I. Arena competition, saving himself from elimination. Kenney was then evicted from the game. But enough about last week — it’s time to see if Quinn finally uses his “Deepfake” HOH power!
9:02 p.m. – With Quinn managing to survive a last ditch back door attempt by America, Chelsie was ready to declare that The Pentagon will be coming for Tucker until they manage to get him out. But it seemed like other players outside the alliance, like Joseph, would also be going after him. What they didn’t know is that nine hours before the eviction, Cam gave Tucker a heads up that he’s the target and wouldn’t have the numbers to stay when he’s on the block.
9:11 p.m. – Because everyone was expecting Quinn to use his power this week to hijack the nominations, the HOH comp was more important than ever. To determine the winner, the houseguests competed in “Bad AI,” a series of head to head match ups to find errors in AI images. In a random draw, Cam and Kimo faced off first with Cam winning. He chose Quinn and Tucker to face off. Quinn got the answer wrong and so Tucker advanced. Tucker chose Chelsie and Angela to face off. Angela knocked Chelsie out and then chose Rubina and Brooklyn to go next. Brooklyn knocked Rubina out and then chose Angela and Makensy to go next. Angela knocked Makensy out as well and then returned the favor to Brooklyn and Leah. Brooklyn got it wrong and so Leah advanced, choosing Cam and Joseph to compete next. Cam was right again and then asked T’Kor and Tucker to step up to play. T’Kor was correct and so Tucker was eliminated. Angela and Leah went next with Angela winning her third match up. Between T’Kor and Cam, it was Cam that advanced to the final against Angela.
9:25 p.m. – In the final match up, Angela bested Cam and became HOH for the second time in four weeks. At this point in the game, Tucker is the only player that Angela feels like she can trust because he took her off the block last week when he could have saved himself instead. But quick talk around the house was that Quinn would use his power to make the noms instead of her. Because Quinn said he didn’t want to use his power, both Makensy and Brooklyn were preparing themselves for the possibility of being nominated by Angela.
9:29 p.m. – Brooklyn wanted to know from Angela why she targeted her in the comp, but Angela tried to dismiss it as her seeing Brooklyn as a smart threat and deflected by saying that Brooklyn targeted her first. Instead of Angela flying off the handle with this confrontation, the two women hugged it out before parting. Still, Brooklyn left knowing that she now has an enemy in Angela while Angela hung back trying to force more fake tears out.
9:31 p.m. – In a meeting with The Pentagon members, it sounded like they were on the same page that Quinn would need to use his power in order to protect all of them through Angela’s reign. Angela was mistaken that she thought she would get to name nominations before Quinn reveals his and so she planned with Tucker for her three initial nominees to be Quinn, Brooklyn and Cedric.
9:40 p.m. – In the latest showmance update, Tucker and Rubina were getting closer and trying their best to not be seen together too much, knowing that the tension between them was growing every day.
9:42 p.m. – Ahead of nominations, Quinn approached Angela to get a sense of who she’ll be nominating in order to test whether or not he needs to use his power. Quinn told her that Kimo is his “hard no,” but after that neither of them were willing to give up any information about their ideas. Even though he’s in The Pentagon, Quinn is still close with Kimo and T’Kor in The Visionaries so he asked them their thoughts about nominating Makensy, Tucker and Rubina. The thought behind nominating Rubina would be to prevent her from using the veto to save Tucker because she’d be inclined to save herself instead.

9:49 p.m. – Quinn’s next conversation was with Cedric who told him that in order to secure strong players in the veto comp he’d be willing to go up on the block alongside Makensy and Tucker. They asked the rest of The Pentagon and they all agreed that it’s best to put Cedric up there early to give him two chances to beat Tucker and with the security that he’ have the numbers to stay in the house.
9:51 p.m. – Ainsley surprised the houseguests by showing a deepfake version of Angela on her AI screen declaring that she’d be delivering her nominees in a special nomination ceremony.
9:55 p.m. – In the ceremony, deepfake Angela nominated Tucker, Makensy, and Cedric. Afterward, Ainsley confirmed that Angela is still safe for the week and remains in the HOH room, but if there is a replacement nomination then the deepfake will name that houseguest as well. Knowing full well that everyone knows he made the noms, Quinn fessed up to it and explained his reasoning to his nominees as being “fierce competitors.”
