Bette Midler Sends Bold Advice to Taylor Swift Following Donald Trump's 'Dangerous' Commentary
Bette Midler is stepping up to the plate to condemn Donald Trump following his most recent "rage tweet" directed at Taylor Swift.
The Hocus Pocus star took to X in the hours following the former president's hateful Truth Social post directed at the "Mastermind" songstress, calling the rhetoric "dangerous" and "illegal."
In case you missed it, the 78-year-old Apprentice alum took to his personal social media platform and simply wrote, in all caps, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 15. It was a presumed, albeit delayed, response to her formal endorsement of Kamala Harris for president, which followed his use of AI-generated imagery to fake an endorsement from the singer, which Swift also, of course, denounced.
Later that day, Midler, also 78, took to social media with a blunt response to Trump's post and a bold piece of advice for the 14-time Grammy winner.
"#Trump rage-tweeting his hate for #TaylorSwift is not just dangerous, it’s illegal," she wrote, suggesting that in publishing what he did, he was "putting out a hit on her, and we all know it."
"He wants his minions to do his dirty work, and you know they will," she continued. "If she is hurt, he will deny that he knows anything about it, as he always does, 'I don’t know, I haven’t heard.'"
She signed off with a word of advice, suggesting, "She should sue the diapers off him, and I hope she does. #SwiftiesUnite."

Midler is far from the only celebrity to come to the 34-year-old pop artist's defense in the wake of Trump's attack. Star Wars alum Mark Hamill went above and beyond on Sunday, flooding X with the hashtag #ILoveTaylorSwift, replying with it to Swiftie's posts, Chiefs game coverage, and more.
