Some of the best times I’ve ever had are sitting down on my couch with my loved ones and watching some hilarious comedy movies. Luckily, Netflix has plenty of them for people to enjoy, some of which are the best movies on Netflix.
If you’re looking for some good Adam Sandler films, or maybe a new Netflix original, the popular streaming platform has got you covered with laughs, snorts, and hilarious humor that is sure to brighten up your day.
She’s All That (1999)
Starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook, She’s All That is the romantic comedy that everyone needs to see. The main story follows a teenager who swears he can make any girl at his high school popular using his social talents, and his friends choose an awkward art student as his target.
She’s All That is quite possibly one of the most essential teen comedies that anyone should watch. Out of every teen comedy I viewed when I was younger, She’s All That certainly stands out for its quick comedic timing, fun romantic moments, and so much more. Besides, who could forget that “Kiss Me” scene?

Murder Mystery (2019)
The comedy-mystery, Murder Mystery, follows a married couple who are caught up in a murder investigation on a billionaire’s yacht.
Honestly, Murder Mystery is one of my favorite of the Adam Sandler movies that he’s done for Netflix in the last couple of years. He and Jennifer Aniston are awesome together, and the whole murder mystery aspect of the film is so fun and overdone by the perfect amount. I really enjoy rewatching it from time to time, and the sequel is just as fun, but you should check out the original first.

She’s The Man (2006)
This was the sports comedy movie back in 2006, and one that you have to watch. She’s The Man, starring Amanda Bynes, is about a young female soccer player who goes undercover as a boy, her brother, in order to play on her high school boy’s soccer team.
I think what I like the most about this movie is that while the romance is there, it’s not at the forefront of the story. Rather, Amanda Bynes’ incredible comedic timing steals the show and makes you snicker every single time, reminding you that she was a phenomenal comedic actress for the time she was in these movies. You also have to love Channing Tatum in this film – he’s so funny.

Wine Country (2019)
In this Netflix original movie, Wine Country follows a group of long-time friends who take a vacation to Napa Valley as a birthday getaway, and hijinks start not long after they arrive.
Think of some of the comedy legends in the movie world - Amy Poehler, Maya Rudoloph, Rachel Dratch, and many others, star in this girls trip comedy film. The scenery is certainly something to remember, with wonderful cinematography, but what really makes this film is the brilliant comedic timing of these amazing actresses.

13 Going On 30 (2004)
13 Going On 30 is definitely one of Jennifer Garner’s best movies of her career so far. This fantasy romantic comedy follows Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old who wants nothing more than to grow up and be “thirty, flirty and thriving.” However, when she goes to sleep one day, she suddenly wakes up in her body as a thirty-year-old woman, living in New York City.
There is so much that I love about 13 Going On 30. I love Jennifer Garner’s performance, but the whole 13 Going On 30 cast is great. Aside from that, the story is full of fun, and Garner and Mark Ruffalo’s comedic timing and chemistry always makes this movie so much fun.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Starring Jennifer Lawrence in one of her best films, as well as Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook is about a young man named Pat who tries to win back his estranged wife by dancing with a young woman in a dance competition after he went through a stay at a psychiatric hospital. While Tiffany promises to help Pat win back his wife, the two become closer.
Silver Linings Playbook is more of a comedy drama than a lot of the other picks on this list, but I’ll openly say it’s a great movie to watch. The performances of both Cooper and Lawrence are some of their best (Lawrence even won an Academy Award for her role), and the comedic timing is on point. I still can’t get over Cooper and Lawrence’s chemistry in some of these dance moments – they still make me laugh.

I Care A Lot (2020)
In this black comedy thriller, I Care A Lot is about a con woman who makes a living as a court-appointed guardian, seizing the assets of vulnerable elderly people, only to get mixed up with a dangerous gangster.
I Care A Lot is certainly one of the more serious comedies on this list, but it’s so good. Rosamund Pike shines in her starring role, alongside a talented cast that includes Peter Dinklage from the Game of Thrones cast, Alicia Witt, Eiza Gonzalez, and so many more. The humor is darker yet hilarious, and the thrills are intense - certainly worth the time to watch it if you haven’t.

Hubie Halloween (2020)
Coming up next, we have another Adam Sandler original, Hubie Halloween. In this Halloween comedy horror film, Adam Sandler stars as a Halloween-loving delicatessen worker, who must save his town of Salem, Massachusetts from a kidnapper.
Look, I love spooky season, and I also love watching some of the best horror movies - but Adam Sandler is great in this comedy. Compared to some of his others as of late, this is one of his best, and deserves so many more people to watch it. If you love Halloween and comedy, this could be your new favorite movie.

My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
Starring Julia Roberts (a certified queen of romantic comedy movies), My Best Friend’s Wedding is about a young woman who realizes that she is in love with her best friend after he reveals that he is getting married. Now, she makes it her goal to try and stop the wedding and confess her feelings.
I can’t think of many Julia Roberts rom-coms that didn’t make me chuckle my head off and also make me swoon at fictional men, because My Best Friend’s Wedding effectively does both. Julia Roberts is a great lead as always, but I have to give some praise to Cameron Diaz as Kimmy Wallace. She had some of the funniest moments of the movie.

No Hard Feelings (2023)
The newest addition to this list, No Hard Feelings is the hilarious Jennifer Lawrence movie you need to watch. This film follows a young woman who is in need of a car, and in order to get one, she agrees to a deal with a young man’s parents – have sex with their son before he goes to college, and she’ll get a car in exchange.
I have to admit that I watched No Hard Feelings as a J-Law fan, and I loved it. It was so freaking funny. Jennifer Lawrence needs to be in way more comedy movies because she was hysterical in this – especially that surprising yet funny beach scene – but the rest of the cast did a great job too. I could rewatch this again and still laugh just as hard.

The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013)
If you want to watch one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s best films but also laugh, then The Wolf of Wall Street is the one for you. This black comedy biographical movie is based on the Jordan Belfort memoir of the same name, and tells the story of how the stockbroker rose in fame, and how it all came crashing down.
When you think of Leonardo DiCaprio, I doubt comedy movies are the first thing that come to mind. But he was great as Jordan Belfort. Arguably, I’m one of many that believe he should have won the Academy Award for his portrayal in this black comedy. He was sarcastic, dirty, and everything you could expect and more, all while still giving an Oscar-worthy performance. If you haven’t seen this great Martin Scorsese movie, then watch it now.

Sausage Party (2016)
Think Toy Story but a million times more raunchy and disgusting. Sausage Party, directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon (with a story by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill), is an animated film that is about as dirty as you can get. It follows several food store items that are sentient, and try to escape when they find out what humans really do to them once they leave the store.
This movie…will forever live in my memory, for years to come, because my silly head decided to drag my whole family to the theater to go see this movie the night before I went off to college – so that was fun.
Regardless, Sausage Party is a fun freaking time and not for the faint of heart, but if you can handle the raunchiness of it, it’s so funny. Plus, there’s even a sequel Sausage Party: Foodtopia TV series coming out soon, so better be sure to check that out. Just don’t have your kids watch it – please.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Starring Jason Segel, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a romantic comedy film that follows a young man who is suddenly broken up with by his long-time girlfriend, Sarah Marshall. But when he decides to go on a vacation to forget about her, he ends up running into his ex with her new boyfriend at his destination, causing chaos.
I knew about Forgetting Sarah Marshall way before I ever watched it because it was a huge movie when it first came out, and now, more than a decade and a half later, I still find myself laughing just as hard as I did back then. Jason Segel’s delivery is always the best.

This Is The End (2013)
We’ve had other raunchy comedy films on here, but genuinely, I think This Is The End outweighs them all. Directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, This Is The End is an apocalyptic comedy film that follows James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen and Jay Bauchel as fictionalized versions of themselves as they stay locked up in a house as the world ends.
This movie is just so wacky and out there and I don’t even have the right amount of words to describe it. It’s exactly the kind of film you thought it would be but elevated to a one hundred because of the circumstances of an apocalypse. It’s so funny – and one you should definitely watch without the kids.

Single All The Way (2021)
This hilarious romantic comedy film from Netflix is the perfect movie to watch during the holidays. Single All The Way is about a young man who convinces his best friend to be his boyfriend when he goes home for the holidays, hoping it will alleviate the amount of people asking about his relationship status every year – only for him to walk into a blind date that his mother sets up for him.
I freaking love this movie. I think Single All The Way is the perfect modern-day romantic comedy. It features a lot of today’s stars, as well as a cool modern day story that a lot of people my age can relate to. Not only that, but there’s a great LGBTQ+ story there that stands out as one of the best today. I love it so much.

Paddington (2014)
If you want a cute little comedy film that is perfect for the whole family, then Paddington is the movie for you. This film, starring Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington, is a semi-animated comedy film that tells the story of Paddington the Bear, an anthropomorphic bear who travels to London after leaving his home in Peru, and is adopted by a family.
Paddington – as well as its sequel – is a pure delight, through and through. You’ll laugh your heart out, and then proceed to cry because the film is so touching. It’s kind, heartfelt, and will make you want to be a better person by the end, while also making you laugh. It’s the perfect film for couples, children, and everyone alike. And now, with Paddington in Peru confirmed, I think it’s time to watch the first.
