It's time for local beers to do battle again in this year's Cincinnati's Favorite Beer championship, the beer bracket where YOU decide who wins.

The Cincinnati's Favorite Beer bracket will be unveiled on Sunday, March 17. One big highlight of the competition every year is the list of beers that received the most nomination votes at each brewery.

Perhaps these are the pours you should sample first when trying out a new taproom. Heck, perhaps not. But it's surely a darn good place to start if you ask me.

We have some newcomer breweries for you to check out this year with the addition of Barleycorn's Brewhouse, Voodoo Brewing Co. and Wandering Monsters Brewing Co. Welcome to the scene, friends!

As for the results, there are some big surprises and some not-at-all surprises.

All of our former championship winners are flying the flag for their home breweries again (except for the Big Ash 2020 winner Coffee Blonde, which was outvoted by the Symphony Vienna Lager). But Wiedemann's Bohemian Special Brew ('21, '22), Taft's Gavel Banger ('19) and Grainworks' Helles Real ('23) are still the top taproom suds ... ahem, *according to our voters.

As for the surprises ... is there a new king of beers at Rhinegeist? The quintessential Cincy brewery will not be represented by its flagship Truth IPA this year. Now holding the torch is the booming Cincy Light Lager. It's a similar story over at MadTree with Happy Amber taking over for the perennial favorite PsycHOPathy.

Are the mighty IPAs losing ground in Cincinnati? Can these new rising suds make it onto the bracket and take on our previous winners?
