Ben Affleck is sporting a different look these days—and some think it's in response to navigating another life change.
As previously reported, the actor's wife, Jennifer Lopez, officially filed for divorce on Aug. 20 after months of speculation of trouble in paradise for the couple. The pair had been spotted several times seemingly disagreeing while in public before their joint sightings eventually dwindled drastically, causing fans to wonder if they were on the verge of splitting up.

Now, Affleck debuted a sudden style change in new photos, sporting a full, much darker, dyed beard with slightly shorter salt-and-pepper-colored hair than his usual look.
In pictures published by the Daily Mail on Thursday, Oct. 3, the Gone Girl star was captured walking down the street, wearing black slacks and a button-up shirt along with the noticeably different facial hair.
The Batman actor was reportedly out in Santa Monica, Calif., with his child, Fin, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. The former couple are also mom and dad to a daughter, Violet, and a son, Samuel.
While Affleck has been quietly going through his divorce from Lopez—never issuing a public comment on the status of his relationship—he and Lopez have been pictured together on different occasions since the filing.
There's no confirmation on whether the alteration of his physical appearance is related to his personal life—and of course, there is always the possibility the change could be in preparation for an upcoming film role.
Affleck and Lopez first dated and were engaged in 2002, before calling off the wedding. They rekindled their romance in 2021, officially tying the knot in 2022 before splitting two years later.
