‘Beauty and the Beast’ Stars Shine in Crosswalk Performance on ‘Late Late Show’
James Corden invited Beauty and the Beast stars Dan Stevens, Josh Gad, and Luke Evans onto The Late Late Show for a crosswalk performance of the Disney classic. James and the cast headed outside the CBS Television City studios onto the corner of Beverly Blvd. and N. Genesee Ave. to put on mini performances in the crosswalk during red lights.
James was a real beauty as Belle, singing, “There goes the baker with his tray, like always. The same old bread and rolls to sell. Every morning just the same, since the morning that we came to this poor provincial town.” The cast avoided jaywalking tickets by running off stage as the light turned green and then heading back out for another performance at the next red light.
Josh Gad and Luke Evans went into the crosswalk together to sing Gaston’s song, and Dan Stevens and James sang “Beauty and the Beast.” The two finished the song and almost locked lips before they had to run off, thanks to a light change.
Josh Gad plays LeFou in the movie, but he got to play Lumiére in the crosswalk. He said, “I didn’t get to play this part in the movie, and I’m actually kind of glad. Because who wants to do it in front of millions of people in a film when you can do it in front of half a dozen Lyft and Uber drivers here.”
The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
