Jenn Tran Is the Bachelorette! Everything to Know About Season 21’s Gorgeous Leading Lady
Jenn Tran is on a journey to find love as the lead for season 21 of The Bachelorette. After being eliminated on season 28 of The Bachelor, she’s getting to be the star of her own story.
Who Is The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran?
Jenn was one of the 32 women dating Joey.
According to ABC, the Miami girl is “bubbly and compassionate and has dedicated her life to helping others.” As for her search to find love, “Jenn has had multiple serious relationships but is still looking for a man who's as reliable and thoughtful as she is.”
Jenn is from Miami, Florida, but her family is Vietnamese. She is bilingual and revealed in June 2024 that she mostly speaks Vietnamese when she's talking to her mother.
On the February 5, 2024, episode of The Bachelor, Jenn opened up about her upbringing and told Joey that she has a strained relationship with her father. “[My] parents were fighting all the time and didn’t necessarily try to hide their fighting,” she shared. “As a result, I kind of had to take care of myself and it was a really traumatic place to grow up in. I never knew what a happy couple was.”
Jenn revealed that her parents continued to live in the same house for years after they separated, with her dad sleeping in the basement and her mom upstairs. “I always felt so unwanted by my dad and the whole family situation growing up,” she admitted. “I just never really felt truly loved. My dad and I’s relationship really deteriorated to basically nothing toward the end of us living together. My dad is not a part of my life anymore.”
What Is The Bachelor’s Jenn Tran’s Job?
Jenn is currently studying to become a physician assistant. The ABC beauty went to college in Pittsburgh for a year and a half, then graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2020 and is now gearing up to take the medical field by storm.
“Reminiscing on this glorious day to remind myself I made it through hell (didactic year) and give me the motivation I need to study for this EOR exam I’ve been putting off for the past four weeks,” she captioned a December 2023 Instagram post.
In February 2024, Jenn opened up about how she managed to appear on the reality show as a PA student. “First and foremost, no I did not drop out of school,” she confirmed. “The deciding factor of me putting my career on hold was, honestly, Joey. I was terrified when I found out it was Joey because I realized that it was all becoming real and that I needed to ask permission from my school to go and do the show.”
While Jenn admittedly didn’t know how her teachers would react, she said she got “lucky” with her advisor’s reaction. “She was so supportive of it,” Jenn gushed. Obviously, there was a lot of hoops that we had to jump through and other people that we had to talk to in order for it to all work out. But she was like, ‘We can absolutely do this. We can put two rotations on hold for you and you can just repeat them after advanced didactic year.’”
Jenn will be able to walk at graduation with the rest of her class, even though she won’t be graduating on paper at the same time as them.
Jenn Tran’s Boating Accident
During a June 2024 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Jenn opened up about being in a near-fatal boating accident right before deciding to star on The Bachelor.
“I got into kind of a bad boating accident with my friends,” she shared. “It sounds dramatic because I did almost die. A boat basically rammed into us a week before I was gonna go on the show and I was like, ‘I almost died, so I’m gonna [go on The Bachelor].’”
She explained the specifics of what happened, adding, “I was on a boat with my friends and this boat was coming right at us. [It] didn’t see us. And I was sitting in the place where the boat would’ve decapitated me. Thank God I was paying attention because I jumped to the other side so quickly.” She confirmed that “everyone was fine” in the accident but said the scary moment led her to realize that she needed to “do something for [herself].”
How Far Did Jenn Tran Make It With Joey Graziadei on ‘The Bachelor’?
Jenn was one of the women who made it to the top six on Joey’s season. She was eliminated right before hometown dates. During their time on the show, Jenn and Joey went on a one-on-one date at the beach, where they went surfing and got to know each other better.
Things got off to a fast start for Jenn and Joey, as she had one of the most memorable limo entrances on night one of filming. Jenn actually ditched the limo and cruised to Joey’s heart by pulling up to the Bachelor mansion in a go-kart. Not to mention, she got bonus points for executing a donut in style.
“Honestly, I don’t know how anyone’s gonna top this tonight,” she said in a confessional after meeting Joey. “Like, memorable for sure."
However, Jenn’s journey to find love wasn’t over, as she was announced as the next Bachelorette during the live reunion show for Joey’s season in March 2024.
