Ayo Edebiri Hands Carson Daly Her Purse to Accept Her Emmy Award, Jokes He 'Still Has My Stuff'
Daly could be seen telling the actress "I got it,” when she handed him her black purse after being announced as outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series
Ayo Edebiri got a little help from her friends — in this case, Carson Daly — as she became a winner at the 2023 Emmy Awards.
The Bear actress, 28, had a relatable moment while accepting her Emmy Award on Monday night when she asked The Voice host to help hold her bag while she went onstage to accept her awards.
When Christina Applegate announced Edebiri as the winner of outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, the actress immediately could be seen closing up her black purse and trying to put it down on her seat before deciding to hand it off to her seatmate Daly, who was ready and willing to help, as seen in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter).
Daly, 50, appeared to say, “I got it,” while taking her purse in both his hands. Edebiri then turned to give a hug to her costars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jeremy Allen White, who were also seated near her, before accepting her award on stage.
In the press room later, the actress joked about her parents being in the "cheap seats" further away from her, which meant she had to turn to Daly to hold her bag.
"Carson Daly still has my stuff!" she shared.

Edebiri had another relatable moment earlier during the event, when she took a moment to help out her pal, Better Call Saul's Rhea Seehorn, with her makeup while in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the red carpet.
In the clip, Edebiri, 28, can be seen attentively touching up Seehorn's smokey eye makeup. Seehorn, 51, appears to say "Thank you so much" as the Bottoms star gives her a nod, signaling that her work is done.
Edebiri, whose appearance comes on the heels of her Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards wins, wore a sculptural leather Louis Vuitton dress with heels by the brand and Brilliant Earth jewelry
Edebiri was on hand to represent the much-nominated The Bear, while Daly was in attendance as part ofThe Voice, which is nominated for outstanding reality competition program.

While speaking on PEOPLE's pre-show livestream, Edebiri opened up about what it's been like celebrating her achievements with her "tight-knit "onscreen family, which also included her costar White.
"Exciting is definitely the word and I think we all just feel very grateful," she said. "We really made the show for nothing with no expectations so to have people receive it at this level both culturally and critically feels like such a blessing."
