Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo to Perform Live at Oscars, Along With Lisa From Blackpink and More
Wicked fans will have extra incentive to tune into Sunday’s Oscars telecast: The movie’s stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will perform live at the ceremony, airing this Sunday at 7/6c on ABC.
But they may not be performing a song from their big-screen musical, it seems. Instead, they “will participate in showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends,” per the official press release. (In January, the Academy announced that the nominees for Best Original Song will not be performed during this year’s broadcast, in a break from tradition.)

Along with Grande and Erivo, Lisa from the K-pop girl group Blackpink (now co-starring on HBO’s The White Lotus), Doja Cat, Queen Latifah and Raye will all perform live as well at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien. The show will also feature an appearance by the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
Grande and Erivo are both nominees at this year’s ceremony for their roles in Wicked: Erivo, for Best Actress; and Grande, for Best Supporting Actress. Wicked collected 10 nominations in total, including one for Best Picture — but didn’t earn one for Best Original Song, since all the songs in the movie were previously performed in the original Broadway version.
