'Architect of shock-rock' to perform at Peoria Civic Center
On Aug. 4, Alice Cooper will perform at the Peoria Civic Center Theater as part of his Too Close for Comfort tour.
Tickets for the show will be available at the Toyota Box Office and Ticketmaster beginning at 10 a.m. on April 19. The Toyota Box Office is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Fridays.
The Alice Cooper band released multiple albums – including "School’s Out" and "Love it to Death" – before Cooper released his first solo album “Welcome to My Nightmare” in 1975. Some of Cooper’s other albums include “Paranormal,” “Along Came a Spider,” and “Dirty Diamonds.”
A news release about the performance noted: “Known as the architect of shock-rock, Cooper (in both the original Alice Cooper band and as a solo artist) has rattled the cages and undermined the authority of generations of guardians of the status quo, continuing to surprise fans and exude danger at every turn, like a great horror movie, even in an era where CNN can present real life shocking images.”
