Apple’s Drug Ring Drama ‘Dope Thief’ Reveals First Look at Stars Brian Tyree Henry, Wagner Moura
Apple TV+ has revealed a first look at the stars of its drug ring drama Dope Thief, set to debut globally on March 14.
Brian Tyree Henry and Narcos alum Wagner Moura play two long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob a country house. But their petty crime quickly becomes a life-and-death matter as they unwittingly reveal and unravel one of the biggest hidden narcotics corridors on the Eastern seaboard.

Henry plays Ray and Moura is Manny Cespedes, friends who first met when they did time together in the youth authority. Moura earlier replaced Better Call Saul alum Michael Mando in the role of Manny Cespedes.
The eight-episode crime drama is created and executive produced by Peter Craig, with Ridley Scott also executive producing and directing the first episode as part of a first look deal between his banner, Scott Free, and Apple Studios. Craig, whose résumé also includes The Batman and The Town, is making his TV debut with Dope Thief.
The ensemble cast for Dope Thief includes Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames. Oscar nominee Henry is also executive producing.
The first two episodes of Dope Thief will drop on Apple TV+ on March 14, followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25. The drug ring drama is based on Dennis Tafoya’s book Dope Thief and was earlier titled Sinking Spring.
The series is also executive produced by David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley.
