'Kill Your Darlings' director bringing YA novel 'Wonder' to the big screen
In what’s bound to be the latest in a string of enormously successful YA adaptations, R.J. Palacio’s debut novel, Wonder, is getting the big-screen treatment.
Kill Your Darlings helmer John Krokidas has signed on to direct the film with a script by Jack Thorne, EW has confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news. Palacio’s 2012 novel follows the story of Auggie Pullman, a 10-year-old boy with a severe facial deformity and the struggles he faces when he attends public school for the first time after being home-schooled his entire life.
Krokidas made his feature directorial debut with 2013’s Kill Your Darlings, which stars Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan as Beat poets Allen Ginsberg and Lucien Carr, respectively. Krokidas is re-teaming with Radcliffe and DeHaan on Young Americans.
