The film portrays Sidd (Abraham), a retired super-middleweight boxer struggling to keep his gym afloat in a gritty urban neighborhood. When Dante, his estranged half-brother (Andres), leads a drug syndicate that targets his fighters, Sidd must confront a dark world in his past.
And as he grows closer to his new neighbors, Giselle (Golja) and her young son (Logan Nicholson), Sidd risks everything to take Dante down and prevent anyone else from becoming collateral damage.
The indie from action film banner Kemodo Entertainment is directed by cinematographer-turned-helmer Russ De Jong, who will use boxing and military combat sequences to drive a drama centered around the themes of survival and redemption.
De Jong’s credits include Simulant, a sci-fi flick that starred Sam Worthington, Simu Liu, Jordana Brewster and Robbie Amell; the thriller Wander, toplined by Aaron Eckhart, Tommy Lee Jones and Heather Graham; and the drama The Martini Shot, starring Matthew Modine, John Cleese and Derek Jacobi.
“Dana’s background as a competitive boxer brings unmatched authenticity to his portrayal of Sidd, while Dennis’ intensity and Ana’s emotional depth elevate the film’s heart and stakes. It’s rare to find actors who can deliver that level of physicality and raw emotion in equal measure,” De Jong said in a statement.
The action flick’s ensemble cast includes Chris Violette, Ish Morris, Bobby Daniels and Devonte Lewis.
