It is not unusual for a friend's dad to get you a job.

Sen. JD Vance's friend's dad — former President Donald Trump — may have just opened the door to him getting one of the biggest gigs in the free world: vice president of the United States.

Trump announced Vance as his running mate Monday.

How times and opinions have changed.

During the 2016 presidential election, Vance, now a friend of Donald Trump Jr., said he was considering voting third party because he couldn't stomach Trump Sr.

In unearthed messages, the Middletown native said Trump could be "America's Hitler."

Now Vance says Trump was a "great president" who changed his mind.

The irony of the change of heart has not been lost on editorial cartoonists.
