Amazon gives series order to Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen comedy
Former Saturday Night Live costars Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen are reuniting at Amazon.
The streaming platform has ordered an untitled half-hour comedy starring the duo, EW has confirmed. Rudolph and Armisen will serve as executive producers alongside Alan Yang (Parks and Recreation, Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation).
Also, receiving the greenlight, EW has confirmed, is an hour-long drama from Paul Attanasio (House) and renowned Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai. Set in 19th century San Fransisco, Tong Wars follows Chinese immigrants and the violent clashes between rival Chinese criminal factions.
In addition, Amazon has put into development projects from The Office creator Greg Daniels, How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, as well as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End).
